Hey loves! I am looking for a few new ladies to join my creative team in the new year! Are you interested? Then please read the information below...it's details on what I am looking for, how I work and what would be expected of you...very important information that you need before you apply!!

I am looking for scrappers who are dependable and are able to do 2 pages every month(with the exceptions of illness and personal issues). I need someone who is responsible and can check into our creative team forum on a weekly basis. I am looking for someone to match the talent of my current team, though not necessarily in the same style. Most importantly---I need someone who genuinely likes my work and can see themselves working with it for an extended period of time.

I generally design 2-3 kits per month(usually 2). You have 1 week to complete a layout for each kit...release dates etc are noted on the CT forum. I always send out an email when a new kit is finished. I require that you post your pages at DST and at Scrapbook-Bytes. I do not require blogging, answering ISO's, posting on Facebook, freebies, advertising---I pretty much just ask that you do your best work for each kit and that you post it in a timely manner.

Kits will be available via a coupon from my store.

I am exclusive to Scrapbook-Bytes and have no plans on leaving! My style is consistent---romantic, maybe? You're not going to find a lot of cuteness in my work. So be sure you like lots of flowers and glitter and pretty things..coz that's what you will be seeing alot of.

The hint of magic in the air, chilly nights, bonfires..ghost stories and Halloween specials..all of it brings me back to childhood and the anticipation of October 31st. With Requiem, I wanted to capture that feeling, but I wanted to do it in an elegant way. So this kit is spooky, but in a very cool Renaissance way. ;D

A Letter to My Daughter is very special to me. It was inspired by not only my own daughter, but all the young ladies out there who are inching closer to womanhood--and to all the mothers who are searching for a way to say "I am so proud of who you are".

The elements of this kit were very specially thought out and I have to really thank my creative team for their thoughts and inspiration.

Book Series!

I loooove to read series. I get so attached to the characters and the world the author creates(if she does it well), it's almost like revisiting friends every time I read a new book in the series or re-read old favorites. I'd say maybe 90% of the books I read are part of a set. In particular, I read urban fantasy books..some refer to them as paranormal or supernatural or even sci-fi, some may even be classified as PNR(paranormal romance). Gosh, I have read sooooo many!! Some of my favorites are:

....the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead, Rachel Morgan by Kim Harrison, the Sookie books by Charlaine Harris, and the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. I'd highly reccommend any of these!! Richelle Mead, for one, I think can do no wrong..she has 3 book series that I adore...the Kincaid series pictured above, the Dark Swan books, and my very favorite YA series(I usually don't like much YA)---Vampire Academy:

Anyone else read urban fantasy and would like to reccommend a series? Others I have read and liked---Queen Betsy, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Urban Werewolf, the dragon books by Katie MacAllister....I would love to try out some new things!

Designer Freebie..CU Palettes

Where does your color inspiration come from? There are quite a few sites out there where people share their palette ideas, such as ColourLovers and Color Schemer. And, you can go to Kuler or the Big Huge Labs palette generator and upload one of your own photos and create a palette from that! Some designers are even selling ready-made color schemes for commercial use! Color inspiration is everywhere...crafting blogs, fabric stores or your favorite magazine. I have even been inspired by television commercials. Once you start seeing the world through your designing eyes, things never look the same again! So here's a small palette set to get your color inspiration started...these are all CU ok so you can use them in your kits, if you like.

Designer Tip...Eye Candy Chrome

So many of us know (and love) Eye Candy, especially the Chrome! But did you know you can change the reflection maps? Most of the time, it's pretty easy to identify who has used this filter just by the shiny chrome effect with the office reflection in it...it's definitely the most popular! But, you can get alot of other cool effects just by using your own photos.

To do this, open up your element in your program and go to your Eye Candy Chrome filter(I have Eye Candy Impact). Go to your Basic Tab up top:

And then go to the bottom where you will see Manage Reflection Maps. Click this.

A small window will open up..click Import and search for a photo that you would like to use as your reflection map..for the frame above I used a photo of my front yard, with a pretty Japanese magnolia tree.

Now find your photo in your image map list and select. Pretty cool, huh? Play around until you find something totally uniquely you!

My inspiration for Memory Keeper was a memory board...a place where you clip odds and ends, pieces of the past. I tried to capture a feel of history but also a feel of a quiet romanticism.

How long have you been scrapping? Since December of 2008, so just over 2 years.

What is your favorite scrapping style(clustering, extractions, templates, etc)? I like clusters combined with empty space. And round photos. I’m a sucker for a nice round frame.

What layout are you most proud of? Oooo, that’s a tough one. I almost always love the pages that I make for you. Sorry ya'll..I just haven't really felt much like blogging(or even designing) lately. =( So not many freebies or updates in Hellyland. I've mostly been watching DVD's of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is like my most favorite tv show ever, but that is just not scrap-worthy inspiration..unless I want to make a really kick ass vampire kit. ;D But I do have one very important project in the works, a kit for infant loss awareness..a topic suggested by one of my awesome FB friends, Jan. So do stay tuned for that.

Ephemeral Soul

Ephemeral Soul is the third collab I have done with Becca..and I have to say, the most unusual, yet versatile one by far. Obviously, we were influenced by altered art..lots of paper elements, unusual textures, odds and ends. But what you may not see at first glance is the potential this kit has for all types of layouts...altered, heritage, just plain pretty! Our combined creative teams certainly schooled me these past few days, creating some of the most amazing layouts I've seen from them.

OMG, I've been so very mean to my blog lately! I seriously need to keep up a little better! I've missed posting about my newest kit, Worlds Apart, and that's simply unforgivable. ;D

Whispers in the Twilight

My favorite time of day is twilight. My little part of the world begins to settle in, readying itself for the darkness to come while still holding on to bits of the day. There is nothing more beautiful as the skylight beginning to fall..especially in the South. When I think of twilight here, I imagine the scent of magnolia..sitting on a wooden rocking chair, listening to the crickets beginning to chirp..the heat of the day giving away to the cool of night.

With Whispers in the Twilight, I tried to capture the mysteriousness of the "gloaming" and the beauty and heritage of the southern United States.

This kit contains 10 papers and 34 elements. Many are vintage, some are southern-flavored and some are softly romantic. But the great thing about all of them, is that when put them together you have a choice..you can definitely go lighter and make a soft page..or you can go darker and make a more haunting page. I love that about this kit.

Secondly, I have a new kit out called With Every Breath. If you are a long time follower of my blog, you may remember me declaring war on Valentine's Day back in 2008, I think it was? Go Away Cupid? ;D Well, you know, the kit was purple so that marked the beginning of my purple V-day kits. Last Year I released My Immortal...very unconventional still...my little tribute to my favorite movies and books and yes...purple. So I figured what the hey..why mess with a good thing? I really love these tags!
If you like to give your kits a bit of a grunge look, then these are perfect for you. They are very easy to use in Photoshop or PSP with minimal fuss and your finished tag will be uniquely you, since you use your own papers on these. Definitely cool, huh?

I hope you all are having a great Christmas!! We've done the present thing, and the eating thing...now I'm doing the "I'm so booooooored!!" thing! LOL I would love to get started on a new kit but I keep coming up with palette ideas and almost simultaneously rejecting them...maybe somewhere in this muddle of a brain there's a good idea lurking. ;D But anyways, I did a bit of playing around and made an overlay, dark and vintage-y. Maybe good for your upcoming Valentine kits?

So I was playing around yesterday with some photos and made some pretty things to add to them...and thought, hey...maybe someone else would like these? So...into the store went Photo Back Drops Vol 1{such a creative name, huh? ;D}.

Every year I like to make a small Christmas kit for my blog readers...this year I was a little afraid I wouldn't be able to do it...first with deadlines and general busy-ness, and then with getting sick and being unable to create. But I have felt better the last few days and really wanted to get this done for you all.

I tried to come up with something a bit different since there are so many Christmas kits out there right now...so I decided to do a kit especially for remembering those that are no longer with us...memories seem to be more poignant at Christmas time, don't they? As you know if you've been a reader of my blog for a while, I've got my own special Christmas angels, so I saw the need for a kit like this. It's not as huge as I would have liked{I'm still feeling the kick of that pneumonia} but maybe it will give you a good starting place when you go to scrap your Christmas memories.

Ok, so it wasn't the flu(there goes my medical degree). I stayed at home, refusing to go to the dr. and paid the price..I really, really let myself get very sick. I was rushed to the ER Wednesday night and they found that I had pneumonia in both my lungs, and not the flu like I thought. So a few days in the hospital and a pretty dog sick me, lots of antibiotics and fluids...and I'm back home and feeling better. Still weak, but definitely better.

Now, I really have to apologize to the ladies that entered my gift certificate drawing. I am so sorry you have had to wait another week! To sort of make up for this, I am sending you all a $10 GC and one lady a $25 GC for winning. Drum roll please.............

Moonless Night

To have a love as fierce as that? Wow. That is my favorite quote from the entire Twilight saga,and the reason why I named my newest kit Moonless Night. Inspired by Edward's love for Bella, a hint of the Volturi and a bit of Jacob...I hoped to capture some of the atmosphere of New Moon.
